2013 Report

A big thank you to those who attended BWM Fest, 14-16 June Santa Pod. Northamptonshire.

With the wind blowing all weekend it did not stop the buzz with over 3500 attending this first annual event. Run by Scooterist, Keith a Sixties Mod who was seen suited and booted in the Ham Yard tent and Shaun skanking to ska at the main stage. 

Gates opened half an hour early due to queues in the road. 

The Scooteriest subcultures came from far a field as Cornwall, Belfast and one guy flew in from Dubai to be with his mates. 

The expertly run Custom Show hosted by Area 51 SC saw 59 entries with a close finish for the 22 categories.

The famous quarter mile drag strip saw action from scooterist in RWYB and the Armageddon scooter shot out competition. With a bonus Fire Force Jet Funny Car demo on the Saturday.

The three music stages entertained over the weekend with the open stage hosted in the afternoon by Quadrophenia UK twitter account showcasing  seven up and coming scene related bands with DJ Sime before the BWM stage time with the Chords UK,  All Weller, The Small Fakers, P45 and the Selecter, Neville Staple from the Specials and Bad Manners with a stage full of skinhead girls for their song.  Neville summed up and announced on stage .... "F**king hell, wasn't expecting you to be this good"!!!

The Ham Yard Northern Soul tent with DJ Guy Joseph and the Ricky Tick DJ's , with a chequered dance floor saw some slick dancing on and off the stage till 2 am.

The OLAS BOSS Upsetter Sound System tent stomped the dance floor with Olas Boss, Madness Tour DJ Darren Bennett and Madam Scorcher playing only female artists entertained to 2 am.
The Fuelers Bar scooterist sounds provided by misdemeanours sc DJs with assistance during day of main stage DJs Nic and Dom.

Help for Heroes raised £1444.50 from their stall and from the BWM Hairdresser Leon, the Head Olympic hairdresser with hair cuts and the BWM raffle, with the top prize a large canvas flyer signed by the bands. 

Sundays ride out, swapped to Saturday for 2014 saw the scooters ride down the famous drag strip for an eight mile ride out to Grendon Lakes Club House for a pit stop.

...and not forgetting Ben the Magic Mod, did you take a card ? any card? 

With camping on site and facilities kept clean and with the bars, cafe, food traders and trade stand space and fun fare, Santa Pod provided a perfect venue. 

We have booked BWM Scooter and Ska Rally for 2014,13-15 June. Tickets same price at £28 weekend early bird, available now.
